Background

Elizabethton City Schools in Elizabethton, Tennessee strives on achieving academic excellence and growth on a daily basis. Its current population includes 2,551 students, 183 educators, and 14 administrators. To better serve their community, Elizabethton needed a website that was reflective of its growing student body and was able to accurately display the district’s interests.

Challenges

Bekah Price, Public Relations Coordinator at ECS, said the original website for the district wasn’t up to par. She said she knew the site needed a boost from where it was at the time. “The design we had previously was not user-friendly,” Price remembers. “It wasn’t an attractive website and our previous host said they would update it but they would charge.” Price said in addition to the lackluster website designs, the previous site was also difficult to manage, and customer service didn’t help. “Customer service was bad,” Price said. “It was also confusing from the backend in addition to being ugly digitally. There were also no ADA compliance tools and they weren’t developing anything new.

Solution

Price said when ECS was approached by SchoolPointe, the company instantly stood out from the other web hosting providers she considered. She said the new website she had in mind needed to have Accessibility and ADA compliance, which was something SchoolPointe could bring to the table. “I immediately like the design that SchoolPointe could offer,” Price said. “I also liked that it was mobile and ADA compliant, that was a big selling point.” She also said the customer support team was always there to assist her in building the new website. While ECS is one of the smaller school districts in Tennessee, she said SchoolPointe’s support team worked diligently to make the district’s needs a top priority. “The support team worked with us more than anyone else and were at a marked down price,” she said. “Since we joined SchoolPointe in 2016, I have really valued being able to email someone and always get a response. Even if it’s a minor issue, it’s always seen as important.”

Outcome

After becoming a partner in 2016, Price said ECS doesn’t want to leave SchoolPointe anytime soon. She said the district hasn’t changed their design but has added on new features like “Elizabethton at a glance”. The school is also using our branded mobile app feature, which is compatible on both iOS and Android. “The developers are always working to try and bring better content to our pages,” Price said. “There’s always someone to talk to and support along the way. Price said while ECS receives offers from other web hosting services, they aren’t up to par with the service and support she’s gotten from SchoolPointe over the last few years. “Customer service has always been the best from beginning to end. There are other companies we could've worked with throughout the years, but we always come back to SchoolPointe."
